Dr. Michael Florence Brings a Wealth of Dental Knowledge

Dr. Mike is an experienced dentist who recently relocated to Carlsbad to join his nephew, Dr. Matt, in practice. After 26 years of owning and practicing at his dental office in Ogden, UT, he decided to transition to a new chapter.

Dr. Mike graduated with high honors from Oregon Health & Sciences University, where he was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society. He has been practicing dentistry since 1995 and specializes in implants, oral surgery, orthodontics, and Botox®, always with a gentle touch and a strong emphasis on empathy. He loves treating families, including kids, and values building strong, lasting relationships with his patients.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Mike is an avid sports fan, particularly of BYU sports. He also enjoys golfing, hiking, and biking. He cherishes his time with his wife, Shelly Florence, with whom he shares a love for outdoor adventures and following major league baseball. Dr. Mike was previously married to the late Rachel Packard, and together they raised five children.

My mom and I have been Packard Dental patients for years, and have never left a comment before, but after years of observation, I felt I should share the best experience for everyone who is looking for a good dentist.

The Packard clinic is a very nice, clean, and organized place, the doctors, nurses, and staff are very polite and super nice, but the key is the doctors are very patient and knowledgeable, also the clinic has cutting-edge devices that make patients have the most comfortable and time-saving experience.

My mom wore her crown and left the clinic for just only one trip because the doctor did a very good design and the lab was just inside the clinic, the whole team did a very nice job, and my mom feel super comfortable with her new crown and the crown never needs any adjusting.

Also, the doctor very much cared for and considered his patient.
I got a night guard around two years ago from the clinic but I never use it, when I feel I need to wear it then I found it was too tight, I was going to the clinic to ask for help and after some adjusting, Dr. Matt decided to make a new night guard for me, even the night guard I got it already two years.
I just felt very grateful and happy with my new super fits night guard!

What an amazing, trusting, peace of mind dental clinic!

The only dentist I trust! I’ve been going exclusively here for about 10 years. This week I went for myself and two small children. Dr. Jared is awesome with small kids who were nervous and does a great job for adults too. I really appreciate the explanations that Dr. Jared gives for work that needs (or doesn’t need) to be done. He has never tried to upsell me or make me feel like I need more work. He has always done a great job taking care of my family’s teeth!

The staff and hygienists are professional and friendly. Alison took my x-rays and cleaned my teeth. She made sure I was comfortable and used new, state of the art tools to clean my mouth. Belinda also helped. She did a great job of making sure I knew what was happening next and how to make sure I was always as comfortable as possible.

The building is great! Packard Dental is in a super clean, state of the art building in such a convenient location! Everything feels clean and fresh. The TVs in the ceiling make for a great distraction for children and adults alike.

10/10 would recommend to everyone!
